A Fast Forward (Good Day)

In researching what to post next (debating between a post about a few songs written about faith or a song written in tribute to the passing of our dear Becall, our cat), I came across this video I took recently of me playing to a backing track. Both of those previously mentioned posts will still get written, but honestly, when I watched this video I was very pleased at how well I played on it (with the exception of a few notes off key) and had forgotten about the video. It was filmed sometime this year, 2023. I was playing to a backing track on my PC. This whole guitar journey has been interesting and frustrating all bundled into one. This video represents a good day where I was just feeling it and found a good melody to just get lost in. I am playing within a scale and definitely concentrating to make sure I stay in that scale, otherwise it would sound off key, but admittedly I am very pleased that I am making it look “easy” in this. Something, I accuse better performers of often. It makes me so jealous when I see the pros make it look like they aren’t even thinking about which note to go to next, and they likely aren’t. As I mentioned before, this was a good day. There are other days I will sit down and try to catch that same vibe or melody and not only can I not catch it, I will hit dead notes, it will sound robotic and it will literally sound like I am just in the middle of my second lesson. But this was a good day and I wanted it on record in case it was my last good day and I needed proof, that at least for one day, I had “it.”
